Man has always been fascinated by fire and fire is part of the cutlure of man. Join us for this inaugural Fire Arts Festival July 19, 2008 as part of Reno's 13th annual Artown celebration. In the heart of downtown Reno's City Plaza, located at 10 North Virginia Plaza, you will be treated to a mezmorizing evening of exotic and thrilling fire performance, dance, and exhibitions of amazing fire art.
You will experience a fusion of ancient martial arts of the Far East and South Pacific as well as the rhythmic ritual of poi spinning from the indigenous Maori culture of New Zealand with a modern twist. This exciting event is free of charge and in a place that is accessible to all. The contemporary style of fire dance is a thrilling experience. Fire Dancing lights up the inner souls of performers and audience alike.

Can't make it to Dreamer's? Check out our Virtual Gallery to see almost all of the photos. This should make you want to come and see them in person! Truly stunning!
Thank you to everyone who came out to see our opening of the gallery display. It was awesome to us to see the smiles on the faces of the artists when they saw their work displayed and we wouldn't trade that. All the smile's they've given us by allowing us to be their subjects seems like a decent trade =) We are honored and blessed to have been the subject of so many local and talented artists, and now we want to share what they have done for us, with you. The images are stunning, we worked on hanging them last night, and we know you won't be disappointed. Even if you can't come for the opening, please stop by Dreamer's when you can, as the show will be up until July 31, 2008.
This all started back in January, when we were approached about hosting our own event for Artown. About that same time, Controlled Burn was honored to be asked to judge Trick Concepts photo contest. It seemed only natural that we would also want to showcase some of the amazing artists who submitted work for this contest, in addition to our own local Artists who have been so generous to Controlled Burn. We have worked with Scorch of Trick Concepts to make this happen, and will be displaying the some of the winners and honorable mentions from both Controlled Burn and Trick Concepts this Summer.
Controlled Burn continues to be humbled and honored with the amount of community support and quality people we have had the good fortune to associate with and call friends. We are constantly blown away by what an amazing community we have in the Truckee Meadows.
Great Basin Color & Conservation have been awesome collaborators on this event, and we hope to do lots of business with them in the future. Great Basin has printed and mounted all the artists' works to be displayed at Dreamer's. Please visit them for quality art services.
